throat cheese
“throat cheese” is a slang term for tonsilloliths (also known as tonsil stones) which are cl-sters of calcareous matter that form in the crev-sses of the tonsils (tonsillar crypts). they typically are the consistency of a soft cheese (hence the slang name), can range up to the size of a peppercorn, and are white/cream color. the main substance is mostly collagen, but they have a strong unpleasant odor because of hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan and other substances.
