n. this is a shortening, and an english b-st-rdization of, the word tortilla. tilla still refers to the delicious flat bread used in mexican cooking. most notable is the change in pr-nunciation: tortilla (tore – tee – yuh) vs. tilla (til – uh).
i got crazy last night and made a two-tilla quesadilla.
