a reference to the tv series star trek: the next generation. in particular the series’ lead, jean-luc picard played by sir patrick stewart. it is in reference to picard’s notably bald head and the line in the show’s opening “to boldly go where no one has gone before.”

stewart attributes this saying to his daughter, who was a teenager when he began the role.
sp-ce: the final frontier. these are the voyages of the starship enterprise. its continuing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to baldly go where no one has gone before.
