an action in where a team from a popular televison show is split up in a season finale. this is usually followed by a season premiere where the original team is replaced by a team which consists of the same basic character traits. it is not very popular with most fans.
person 1: did you hear? they’re going to get rid the team from ncis!

person 2:that sucks, but i doubt the writers are going to house us.
