To make a blue


in australian parlance, it can mean to make a mistake. i have a feeling it may have come from dock workers. on the other hand, criminals used to be pr-ne to calling charges they faced, ‘blues’, probably because of the color of the paper on which they were printed. any other, explanatory contribution would be welcome.
i think i just allowed myself to make a blue.
