transformers: the last knight (2017)
transformers: the last knight is a 2017 american science fiction action film based on the transformers toy line created by hasbro. it is the fifth installment of the live-action transformers film series, the second film in the sequel trilogy and the sequel to 2014’s transformers: age of extinction. like its predecessors, the film is directed by michael bay, featuring mark wahlberg returning from age of extinction, with josh duhamel, john turturro, and glenn morshower all reprising their roles from the first three films, with laura haddock and anthony hopkins both joining the cast. bay has stated that he will not return for another sequel, though he will remain as producer.

1. michael bay said that this will be the last transformers film he will direct, for the moment. he is open to doing more films in the future, if he gets a good story.
2. tyrese gibson was set to return as robert epps, but he was unable to appear in the film due to scheduling conflicts with the fate of the furious (2017).
3. despite his seeming death during transformers: dark of the moon (2011), the police car decepticon barricade returns, and has apparently survived up to the events of this movie, with a completely new design, including a new vehicle mode.
4. the decepticon nitro zeus was named after the code name for a shelved american offensive plan.
5. onslaught’s original alternate mode in the transformers (1984) was an anti-aircraft truck, but this was revised to a western star tow truck. his green color is an homage to the autobot tow-line in transformers: robots in disguise (2000), who was a green tow truck.
6. the knights of cybertron have their ship hidden in a mountain range in england. the autobots had their base in a similar location in the transformers (1984), although that was in america.
7. when megatron first appears, general morshower says he recognizes his voice. this might be an inside joke, since megatron was voiced by hugo weaving in the first three films and subsequently by frank welker.
8. optimus prime has no on-screen transformation in the entire film. he only appears as a truck at the end of the movie.
