an indie alternative band which formed in 2001 and is based in new york city. they play a diverse range of music which includes elements of electronic, hip hop, trip-hop, a capella, free jazz, house, and blues. the band was formed by two members: tunde adebimpe and david sitek. also in the band are kyp malone, jaleel bunton, and gerard smith. they are also joined by other contributors on their alb-ms.
