uromastyx
a species of lizard belonging to the agamidae family. they live in northern africa, generally the western side. in captivity, these animals are mainly vegetarians. in the wild they are more likely to have a 50/50 diet consisting of insects/plants. uromastyx is pr-nounced your-oh-m-ss-ticks.
my nephew and i recently went out and caught a uromastyx in niger.
