Van Hagar
a term used (not necessarily in a derogatory manner) to describe the lineup of van halen when sammy hagar was the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the band (1985 – 1996 and again in around 2003 – 2005).
in 1985 van halen got the nickname “van hagar” for obvious reasons. the following year i saw van hagar live in concert on the 5150 tour. i think the band was at their commercial peak at that time. 5150 was the band’s first #1 alb-m, and of all those vh alb-ms that reached the top it’s the best.
a rather negative term used to describe the period of time in which sammy hagar dominated as the lead singer of van halen. this period of time spans from their alb-m “5150” to present day van halen. hagar took over the lead singer’s role when david f-cking lee roth walked out on the rest of the band shortly after “1984”. although the hagar alb-ms are quite different from the roth ones, they still kick major -ss. van halen’s next alb-m should release early this summer. hagar owns you all.
van halen or van hagar, they own either way.
