Velvet Thunder
velvet thunder = the distinctly one of a kind & genuinely beautiful, emotionally drenched yet omni-powerful guitar solo so oft gifted to us by jerry garcia; guitar jamming extraordinare & also the much adored mentor for so many souls; whilst awakening at the core for their trip to where the eagles fill the sky. briefly obtaining just a piece of his inner grace. many people at many concerts could share these preciously short lived sp-ces in time soley for grasping the intangible…the perverbial gold ring inside. a thing so fleetingly beautiful that you never can reach it; as it just slips away when you try. as thunder so quickly comes to us…commanding all the sky and userping the dominance of the earth… as was the velvet thunder which sprang forth from the 9 fingers and unparalled heart of gold; sported on the sleeve of mr jerry garcia, my bone shuddering reminder of heaven’s sounds that await those able to overcome the perceptions allowed to us within this earthly plain where in we shortly dwell.
jerry gave it all tonight; blanketing each song with the velvet thunder which resonates betwixt he and his guitars wall of sound.
