Waxing the Cat
an excuse to give to someone when you really, really don’t want to talk to them. it’s sort of like a stunner because no one expects it. once you stun them, it’s your time to get away.
“waxing the cat” is a family-friendly way to get the h-ll away from someone you don’t like.
joanie: blah, blah, something stupid, blah, blah…
fred: i must be off! i’m going to be waxing the cat!
joanie: -staring at fred in shock-
fred: -makes an epic get away- ha, it works everytime!
