a term to describe china’s agenda in the developing world: a low interest loan to nations, run by corrupt politicians, or an offer to buy back their near-bankrupt companies, in return for opportunities to exploit their natural resources.
a willingness to help build airports, hospitals, or dams in the developing world, that’s what chinese want—a form of colonialism 2.0, so to speak.
