afflicting an extremely violent, fatal punishment to a person or persons who have callously ignored and abused the needs of others. usually administered by an mob of angry citizens. this term is derived from the fate benito mussolini and his wife met, near the end of world war ii., when seized by italian citizens, hung upside-down and beaten beyond recognition.
“if you continue rousing these people to violence, we are going to drag you outside and give you the whole benito!”
