Yarbler

deep mumbling baritone style of vocalists popular with early to mid-1990s singers in modern rock music. though eddie vedder is often the most referenced example of a pure yarbler, many lesser singers of lesser bands have mimicked his yarbling to comically terrible results. best example of this is creed’s scott stapp.
pearl jam’s eddie vedder is the standard bearer of yarblers, others include lane stanley of alice in chains, arguably chris cornell of soundgarden fame.
