coined by jon stewart on the daily show for wednesday, october 2nd, 2013 as a word for house republicans responsible for the government shutdown begun at 12:01am on october 1st, 2013 simultaneous with implementation of obama healthcare.
stewart used the term twice during the bit as a derogatory euphemism for u.s. republicans and particularly tea party .
they’re just a bunch of… of… of zebraqueefs!
