Battle of Midway
a battle between american and j-panese forces in the pacific. attempts by the j-panese to lure the americans to alaska failed as the americans had cracked the j-panese codes. resulted in the destruction of the entire j-panese carrier fleet with the loss of only one american carrier and turned the tide in the pacific war.
the battle of midway was fought in 1942 between the american and j-panese navies.
