Camp Sloane
a summer sleep away camp nestled in the berkshire mountains in lakeville, ct. sloane consists of 4 age groups for both boys and girls: pios (pioneers), juniors, seniors, and students. the girls sections are located up the hills near the nature and high ropes courses. the boys sections are right near the lake. campers sleep in platformed, canvas tents every night and once a session take portable tents to various camp sites for ‘overnights.’ every session, there are talent shows, square dances, and depending on age group, co-eds. camp sloane offers 2 week sessions, but campers can stay for up to 8 weeks. after meals, campers chant cheers according to their age groups. the counselors are almost 90% international, and are among some of the nicest people you will ever meet. camp sloane is really a “place to grow.”
