a person who can’t remember what happened at his or her own party because he or she became intoxicated. named for first lady dolley madison who was known to host many social gatherings at the white house, and for col. oliver “ollie” north who famously could not recall (but not because of intoxication) details about iran-contra when testifying before a joint congressional committee in 1987.
