considerate of others, not uppity
if one isn’t uppity, they are downity.
opposite of uppity; one who believes being from a lower social status makes them a better person than someone else.
this definition has arisen from a shift in american culture towards the celebration of a success story.
just because both my parents are lawyers, john doesn’t have to act all downity to me, i still treat him the same as should he.
