the politically-correct term for killing an animal due to either incurable disease, harmful behavior that can’t be corrected, or unlikely chance of survival. usually pertains to pets.
don’t send that cat to that animal shelter, that’ll end up being put to sleep, there’s a no-kill shelter west of here.
used as a mock by the party of the winning side of an argument. when an individual does not know how to respond to a statement, then the individual is considered “sleeping”.
