Sarayliyas
the people of sarajevo are known as “sarayliyas” (spelled sarajlije in bosnian, croatian, serbian).
sarayliyas are known for being very proud and patriotic of their city.
sarayliyas are known for being modern cultured city dwellers. bosnians from outside sarajevo are thought to have the sense that sarajevo receives too much attention, but this is more of a sibling rivalry than an actual dislike for sarajevo and its people. within the city itself, the people of the various munic-p-lities have somewhat taken up the stereotypes of the regions they live in. sarajevo is also known for having a very communal feel, despite its large population.
