two-leaf clover


a phrase to describe a mood or emotional condition that is partially lucky and partially unlucky. the name comes from the fact that four-leaf clovers are often -ssociated with luck.
it was a two-leaf clover kind of day for my sports teams — the flyers won but the phillies lost.
