ups syndrome
totally unrelated to any “opposite” condition of the well-known “born later in the mother’s life” disorder, this affliction merely refers to an abnormal obsession with “all things united parcel service” — the person may collect lots of caps and t-shirts with the ups logo, arbitrarily ship out anything and everything — even ordinary personal letters, which of course would cost a lot more to ship that way than just a regular us-mail “forever” stamp — by “ol’ brown-‘n’-yellow”, always ask to have mail-ordered items shipped to him by ups even if the us mail or fedex would be cheaper, etc.
caring nephew: my elderly uncle ted has developed ups syndrome in a major way. so i always order his e-bay items for him myself, so that he won’t needlessly overspend on shipping if there is a cheaper way to send the items.
