acer macrophyllum
the biggest of the big leaf trees in the deciduous family that are endemic of western north america. the oregon maple (acer macrophyllum). the tree is native to the pacific northwest coast range, from california, us, to british columbia, canada.
the way this acer macrophyllum hangs from the cliff by the fingers of it’s roots is poetic.
