Derby Widow
the girlfriends, boyfriends and spouses of roller derby girls call themselves “derby widows”. the term originates from the fact that roller derby is a sport as well as a faith-based initiative and can be very time consuming, leaving ones life partner “widowed”.
if you are a girl dating a derby girl, don’t try and fight it. you will probably become one too.
if you’re a guy dating a roller girl, either accept your derby widow status, or try to support her by supporting the league as a volunteer.
