a stereotypical frenchman too engaged in the act of sniffing his own farts to try to understand and appreciate other cultures. from steve martin’s inspector clouseau character in “the pink panther,” in which inspector clouseau attempts to pr-nounce the word “hamburger,” and is met with frustration.
