Downriver Shuffle
those who live in the downriver area of michigan (communities south of detroit: allen park, brownstown township, ecorse, flat rock, gibraltar, grosse ile, huron charter township, lincoln park, melvindale, river rouge, riverview, rockwood, romulus, southgate, taylor, trenton, woodhaven, and wyandotte) who have either/or have failed to obtain a higher education, have had a child at too young of an age, married, married an uneducated individual in the armed forces, got involved in a blue collar career with no chance of promotion, have no ambition to succeed, live with parents over the age of 24, too lazy to succeed or obtain a job to support oneself, and or live off the financial means of an individual(s) other than themselves. in other words believe that this (the downriver shuffle) is just “good enough.”
those who have not succeeded, nor have made a significant improvement in their lives since high school. those whom still believe that their band is going to “make it” are just a few examples of those playing the “downriver shuffle”.
