ghettro is a combination of the words ‘ghetto’ and ‘metro’. metro being the cellular telephone provider metropcs. metropcs is commonly referred to as ghettro due to the fact it offers unlimited minutes starting at a low price of $35 a month and also that all the african-americans in the ‘ghetto’ use the service. originated in the california bay area by the people of vallejo, the home of such great thizz artists like mac dre and e-40.
