Heldering Syndrome
the heldering syndrome is a term used to describe psychological phenomenon wherein a good idea for a new word on definithing.com is taken hostage by others and the once positive feelings from acceptance into definithing.com are turned into dismay, shame, shock and the need to apologize for ever thinking that defining the word was funny.
the following are viewed as the conditions for heldering syndrome to occur.
– when seeing defined word on twitter makes you cringe
– when seeing or hearing reference to the defined word, or a word that is similar to the defined word immediately feeling as if you must issue a m-ss apology.
