the same as eunuch. in pakistan and india this expression is broadly used to describe those cl-ssified as neither male nor female. born male, the hijras adopt women’s names, behaviour and clothing. this word means “impotent ones” in urdu.
more than 100 hijras competed at “miss world 2001” in india.
