John-date
an undefined, somewhat exclusive relationship between two people. neither party gives the other party a t-tle of “boyfriend” or “girlfriend” within the relationship. however, only the one person is dating with full intentions on ending the undefined relationship within six to seven months of dating to avoid serious commitment, the i-love-you phase or being tied down to an area because of a relationship.
man #1: what happened to that chick you were seeing?
man #2: oh, that was nothing serious. i just john-dated her.
