a composting of food scr-ps, eggsh-lls, and leftovers made by literally throwing foodstuff out the back door and into the backyard. there does not need to be any real or intended garden or compost, and if there is, you certainly don’t need to aim for it.
popular for its ease and lack of waste. as long as you throw far and don’t maintain your yard, who cares where it will decompose!
