madyaker is a kayaking brand from the uk that started in the late 1990s in chorley lancashire by gaz madyaker (gareth patterson) the word was made up from the mixture of mad and the yaker from kayaker. meaning mad kayaker. madyaker started with paddles and helmets and then went on to do clothing after the british rafting team asked them to sponsor them. madyaker famously produced the sh-g stick paddle which was the most wakiest shaped design with its b-tt grove which prevented flutter. also madyaker paddles where the first to make 45 degree angles standard on all there paddles and encouraged shorter lengths for freestyle compared to what had been used since the age of kayaking. they sponsored gb and irish tarms and individuals at world championships.
