Ninesourcing
n. a concept similar to outsourcing, but differs in that a company hires individuals who are currently resident in the company’s country; particularly pertains to the american use of the irs w-9 (w-nine) contractorform, hence the name. such a concept allows work to be performed under de facto minimum wage, and can result in less-than-optimal services.
i have a feeling that the guy i talked to about setting up my internet service was a product of ninesourcing… he totally didn’t know what he was talking about and told me to plug the ethernet cord right into the dsl modem’s phone jack!
