North Philly Stop

a driving term used to describe the act of slowing down before a stop sign without making a complete stop. synonymous to a “rolling stop”. in some areas of north philadelphia, you wouldn’t want to completely stop your car because there’s a chance you’ll get jacked or robbed if your car is stopped long enough. thus, you slowly slide up to the stop sign and then continue on your way, lucky to still be in possession of your vehicle and your belongings.
